Company: ASDA
Role: Senior Manager - National Fleet
I began my career at ASDA in 1991 as a warehouse colleague in stores, progressing through various managerial roles across different locations. In 1999, I transitioned from retail to become General Manager of a home shopping depot in London. My move into logistics came in 2002 as Transport Operations Manager at Dartford RDC, overseeing ambient, chilled, and frozen deliveries.
In 2004, I led the opening of Erith CDC as Transport Operations Manager, a dedicated chilled and frozen depot. By 2010, I moved to Regional Transport Operations Manager, responsible for transport ways of working across southern depots. In 2013, I returned to Erith as General Manager, running the entire site and delivering over 1.35 million cases weekly to 75 stores.
In 2018, I moved into a central role, initially focusing on operational models and ways of working. Since then, I’ve held several roles including oversight of the store returns network, primary logistics, and systems implementation. I currently lead Fleet, Fuel, and Canteens, managing a team of field-based and central colleagues responsible for approximately 7,000 pieces of equipment and fuel delivery to 780 stores.
